Subject: Excellent slapstick!
Knockabout humor from beginning to end. Love this humor! Arbuckle & St John are excellent, Keaton was mild but ok. Wild & hysterical if you like this humor...sad Arbuckle had that problem which caused him to pull out of starring. A true genius had he continued.....

Subject: a pretty cool silent short film!
I enjoyed this short film, much to my surprise. The only Fatty-Buster film I had seen before was "Bellboy" - nice, mildly amusing but not so great. This one is noticeably better. As a Buster fan, I downloaded this one mostly on a purpose to see him in his early days. He is not prominent here, however, and doesn't look much like his usual self, smiling and laughing. But I wasn't disappointed in the least - Fatty alone is worth watching here. He is certainly great, and I understand now why he was such a prominent and influencing comedian. The fire scene is awesome, especially the way Fatty "deals" with the fire! Also, it was funny as heck when he took up cooking instead of the fired chief, and then was serving the guests at a table - you'll love it too! Al St. John is the ultimate of kookiness - Woody Woodpecker looks sane in comparison with him! The film also has a good soundtrack, so there's no silence.
